Concert 29. January 2025

19.00

When two of Norway’s leading improvisers met as a duo at a jam last year, it was a strong “hand in glove” meeting. Not long after, an agreement was made for an exclusive tour under the direction of Musikk i Innlandet, where Audun Kleive and Frode Haltli will visit a few selected locations. This is a concert without any form of preprepared agreements. With big ears and a long career, virtuosity, humor and excess, Audun Kleive and Frode Haltli pour out the musical richness that comes from spontaneous interaction. They can move through sailor’s waltzes and folk music, via contemporary music-like stretches, to humorous passages and tango. All based on a common intuition.

Musicans

Frode Haltli grew up in Våler. He plays the accordion and has won a number of awards since winning the Talentiaden at the age of 16. Haltli often works at the intersection of folk music, modern score music and jazz. Buddy Prize winner Audun Kleive lives in Gjøvik and is often referred to as a legend in European jazz circles. He is best known as a drummer, but like Haltli, he has also composed works for small and large ensembles. Kleive has worked innovatively with the integration of jazz and electronic music since the early 1980s.
